My First Senior Portrait Session......and Frye Boots

Hello!
I had my first senior portrait session this weekend....
Megan Maupin is a beautiful girl and was so much fun to photograph....
Here we used a vintage french hemp linen sheet, filled our gift baskets with apples and put her beach cruiser off in the background....
I will share a few more images from Megan's session later on...
I hope to do more of these sessions in the future.....

On another note.....

I keep meaning to post where our boots are from......
The brand of boots you always see on my girls in photographs are Frye Boots.....
Megan is also wearing them in the first picture....
We bought them at Nordstrom's big sale they hold every summer.....
They are actually on sale today on the Nordstrom website....

On a final note.....

Heather Bullard shot the beautiful cover of the Souvenir Lifestyle Magazine summer issue, I love how Heather used a french market basket filled with produce for the summer issue....
(I am so excited about carrying these baskets in the shop.....)
Speaking of Souvenir Lifestyle... I am working on projects for the holiday issue this week....

Hope you all have a great week!

Handmade French Styled Market Baskets

Hello!
I hope you are all having a great week.
I just wanted to share some images of some handmade french styled market baskets that I am now carrying in the shop.
I have been using these baskets for the past couple of years and love them....
We use them in the home to help control clutter and we also
   use them for shopping purposes....
They also make great gift baskets.
I am now carrying these baskets in the shop, you can find them listed in the Farmhouse Living Category....
They are handmade in Morocco.
They are used in France as market baskets.

Here are a few of the baskets you will find in the shop....

We like to hang the french market baskets from doors, shutters, and or coat racks to store items in.....

All baskets will arrive with a complimentary lavender sachet.

I hope to take some pictures of how we use these around the house....

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Our Entryway, Using Totes and Baskets to Store Clutter

Hello!
My sister flew in from GA yesterday, we are working together to create some fun items for the shop made from grain sacks....
I just wanted to post a couple pictures I took of our entryway a couple of months ago....
If there is one room I dream of having it would be a mudroom....
We do not have a mudroom, however we do have a small entryway...
When you have five kids and try to run a business out of your home, it seems like you never have enough storage space for things...

Vintage french coat racks are a lifesaver....
The kids each have one in their  bedrooms.

We fill the totes that my sister made for us with odds and ends....
They help hide the clutter....
I am lucky to have a sister who will sew for me : )

I always love to display our boots....
I like getting two uses out of them....

Baskets.....
One can never have too many baskets or crates.
This particular vintage french basket is a favorite...
I have these stacked throughout my house to store all of my linens in that we use for the shop....
This particular one is stocked with blankets that we use around the house.

On another note....

My sister made a few grain sack totes for the shop, I hope to list them in the shop soon,
however I am still searching for the perfect handles.....

Also I have to apologize I haven't been able to email out for the past week.
I was able to send a couple emails out and then my email completely stopped working.
Our email was hacked into and I think we finally have it worked out.
I will be trying to respond to emails this evening.

Adèle, the Boys' Study Partner and a French Chalk Board....

Hello,
I wanted to share a picture I took yesterday with my iphone and shared on instagram....
(Adèle is the boys' favorite study partner : )
The chalk board is a vintage french chalk board that came out of a school house in France....
I bought it for practically nothing from one of my favorite french importers at the Chateau Sonoma Flea Market....
The boys currently use it for spelling and math...

On another note....
The girls and I have been working on creating some fun cards to go out with orders....
Here we printed off a 3.5 x 5.5 image I shot of the Vintage French Bowling pins and adhered the image
to a 4" x 6" post card using Elmer's Craft Bond spray adhesive ....
Then we wrapped some of our vintage Dutch Butcher Twine around the card to finish it off.
I used to make my own Christmas cards using images of the kids and I love making cards with the kids...
I am going to try and create some stationary to sell in the shop, I am still working on trying to find the right paper and printer...

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Castello di Amorosa in Napa Valley, California

Hello!
I wanted to share a few images of our recent visit to Castello di Amorosa in Calistoga, California.
Castello di Amorosa is a beautiful castle located in the Napa Valley.
We didn't actually tour the inside of the castle, however there was so much beauty to be seen outside the castle...
I wish I had gotten more pictures of the castle, I kind of got distracted taking pictures of the beautiful sheep.....

~my beautiful nieces Katie and Amelia~

Betty (Nancy's sister) brought us to the castle and showed us around Napa Valley

~my brother Merle and his wife Nancy and their beautiful girls~

Enjoy the rest of your week!
